In 1900 David was living in Halsellville, Chester, South Carolina with his parents Isaac "Ike" and Hattie. Isaac was born in 1864 and Hattie was born in 1871. David's siblings were James (born 1888), Jessie (born 1892), Abe (born 1896), A J (born 1898), and Almanus (born 1900). By 1910 David was living in Atlanta, and by 1940 he was living in Cain, Paulding, GA, still with his parents. He had not worked at all in the previous year (1939) though his father was a farmer. According to the 1940 census, David had no children. The words "We will meet again" are on his tombstone.
