Tex was a career Marine of 23 years. He was critically wounded at Iwo Jima while serving with the Fourth Marine Division. He was a Purple Heart Recepient, charter member of the Fleet Reserve and a life member of the VFW & American Legion in Mrytle Beach, SC.
