William "Ted" Anderson Jr. of Whitesville died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after a short illness.
He was born in Charleston, son of the late Mary Ellen Lewis and William E. "Ted" Anderson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country as an infantryman during the Vietnam War. He was a past director of the Boone County and Kanawha County Ambulance Authorities. He worked as a police officer with the town of Whitesville and retired as a lieutenant from the Boone County Sheriff's Office with 27 years of service. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 162, Whitesville.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cary Ryan Anderson; daughter, Jennifer L. Anderson and long-time boyfriend, Clark Greene; son, William Ryan Anderson and fiancee, Mallory Ohse; several cousins, aunts and uncles; and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the First Presbyterian Church, Whitesville, with Pastor David Minturn officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, with Masonic graveside rites by Boone Lodge No. 162, Whitesville.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 28, at the church.
