Walter A. "Duke" Maly, 86 of Granite St., passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 in U.Mass Hospital, University Campus,Worcester.

His wife of 46 years, Rita T. (Hanc) Maly died in 1995.

Duke leaves two daughters; Patricia A. wife of Paul R. Richard, and Mary Ann wife of Timothy Weaver both of Webster.

Three grandsons; Michael Richard, Sean and Samuel Weaver, and a great grand-daughter; Peyton.

He also leaves two brothers; Francis Maly of Illinois and Emil Maly of Southbridge, a sister ;Josephine Bryze of FLA.

He was predeceased by a brother; Edward Maly of Southbridge.

Duke was born in Southbridge a son of Peter and Helen (Kupiec) Maly and has lived in Webster most of his life.

He was a WWII Navy veteran.

Duke worked for the Webster Times and later the Worcester Telegram & Gazette as a press man for over 35 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Basilica, the Friends of St. Joseph's School and was active on the annual Church Festivals. He loved driving down to the Lake .
