MONIE, Lieutenant Age 68, of Dayton, departed this life on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, OH at 5:20 P.M. He was born on December 11, 1944 to the late Arthur L. and Veester Monie in Somerville, TN. He was a graduate of the Somerville school system, and later relocated to Dayton, OH in the early 1960 era, where he united with the Shiloh Baptist Church, and served faithfully with the Usher's Ministry, and on the Finance Team. He was a retiree of Chrysler following 30 years of service. He is preceded in death by parents and his daughter. Those remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Cochita and his son, Lieutenant Monie Jr.; (6) brothers, James (Kathryn) Nelson, William, McArthur Monie, Aron (Evon) Monie of Bolivar, TN, Andrew and Jerry Monie of Somerville, TN; (5) sisters, Annie Spencer, Maxine (Chris) Chapman, Gloria Mabon of Memphis, TN, Nedra (Floyd) Kee and Grace Monie, both of Stanton, TN; his favorite nephew, Cayelin Richardson, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and devoted friends. Funeral service 11:00 A.M., THURSDAY, May 30, 2013 at SHILOH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 3801 Fairbanks Ave., with Reverend T. D. Newkirk, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment: West Memory Gardens.
