Garland A. Adams, 95, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Elderberry Health Care Center. Mr. Adams was a retired electrician and pipe fitter and belonged to both the IBEW Local 238 and Steamfitters Union Local 421. Mr. Adams was a member and Sunday School Teacher at the Hopewell Baptist Church. He proudly served in the US Army Air Corps as a Radio Operator in the India-China-Burma Theatre in WWII. He was also a proud member of the "HUMP Pilots Association."

Mr. Adams was a son of the late Andrew Jackson Adams and Mirlie Wallin Adams. He was preceded in death by: wife, Lula Leake Adams; son, Jerry Keith Adams; brothers, Arnold, Ronald, Nolan, Ervin, Wayne and Douglas; sister, Fannie Sizemore.

Mr. Adams is survived by: sister, Faye Adams; sister-in-law, Helen Adams; brothers, Ward, Andrew Jr. and Neal; grandson, Sam Adams and wife, Holly; granddaughter, Lucinda Adams; three great grandsons, Sammy Adams and wife, Audra, Jackson Adams and Asher Blankenship; daughters-in-law, Cynthia J. King and Katherine Adams; special nephew, Charles Ray Leake and special niece, Judy Horne and many other beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Adams will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home conducted by the Reverends Joe Tomberlin and Sam Adams. The family will receive friends for two hours prior the service. Graveside service will be held at 12:00pm, the following day at the Adams Family Cemetery.
