She was born Sept. 29, 1931, to Elbert Franklin McCullough and Anna Lou Payton McCullough.
She was preceded in death by one older brother, Earl Franklin McCullough; and one older sister, Betty Lou Elrod.
Mickey was a lifelong resident of Fort Smith and attended Fort Smith High School, graduating in the class of 1949.
She is survived by her loving husband and dearest friend, Joseph S. Irwin; a daughter, Jane Ann Hinkle (Dr. Richard Hinkle) and grandson, Jay Hinkle; and son, David Franklin Jamell and two grandsons, all of Fort Smith.
She was a loyal, longstanding member of PEO, Chapter F. Her church, First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, was extremely important in her life. Her work there included Stephen Ministry, the Worship Committee, serving as a Communion Steward and playing with her real love, the Ladybells.
Over the years, Mickey acquired many cookbooks and many delicious recipes, which she leaves to her Birthday Club friends. She could meet a total stranger and in five minutes, they were best friends, and could even be her next guest for Thanksgiving dinner. Her generous and loyal friendship will never be forgotten by both her "old" and her new friends.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at Roebuck Chapel at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herschel McClurkin and the Rev. Robert Cloninger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
The family will visit with friends following the service at the narthex.
Pallbearers will be Katherine and Paul Sandahl, Ira and Jo Ann Jones, Betty Ragon, Phyllis Davidson and Chris and Becky Cook
Honorary pallbearer will be Rose Bethell.
