Among Militamen under Captain William Foreman Killed during an Indian ambush at the McMechen Narrows on the Ohio River south of Wheeling, Virginia in 1777.

Note: Contrary to novelist Alan Eckert in "The Frontiersman" he was not captured, tortured and killed by Indians in 1791; that was an nephew Jonathan Greathouse.
