AUGUSTA, Ga. - William Roy "Sgt." Robinson, Sr., age 81, entered into rest, March 2, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital. Family members include three daughters, Doris Abernathy and husband, Robert Sr., of Modoc, S.C., Patricia S. Williams and husband, Eddie, of Hephzibah, Linda F. Drake and husband, Bob, of Burke County, Ga.; two sons, William R. Robinson, Jr. and wife, Donna, of Hephzibah, Bobby R. Robinson, Sr. and wife, Pamela, of Burke County, Ga.; three brothers, Rev. Troy Robinson of Cardova, Ala., Damon Robinson of Ala., and Delmar Robinson of Texas; three sisters, Charity Robinson, Betty Robinson and Ann Robinson, all of Ala.; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife, Monnie Robinson; daughter, Elizabeth R. McCall; and grandson William Robinson III. Mr. Robinson was born in Berry, Ala., to the late James Leroy Robinson and Bethy Davis Robinson. He had lived in Augusta since 1959.He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran having served in World War II. Mr. Robinson was employed with Orkin and Barnes Exterminating Company for 22 years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Poteet Funeral Homes South Chapel with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Full Military Honors.
