HARLEM, Ga. - Mr. Karl Klein, 92, husband of the late Mrs. Delle Anderson Klein, entered into rest Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, Ga., with Masonic Rites and Military Honors. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside. Mr. Klein was born in Chicago, Ill, to the late Louis and Fannie Klein. He was a salesman for Georgia Vitrified Clay Corporation for over 46 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, of the 10th Armored Division, and received medals for the American Campaign, European-African Middle East, World War II Victory, Good Conduct and the American Defense Service Medals. Mr. Klein had also served in the past as Scout Master of Troop 60 of Harlem, President and Secretary of the Harlem Rotary Club, President of 10th Armored Division Veterans Association, Past Master and Treasurer of the Harlem Masonic Lodge #276, Scottish Rite Mason Augusta Bodies, Shriner-Alee Temple of Savannah, President of Thomson Shrine Club, was named Paul Harris Fellow of the Harlem Rotary Club, Honorary Kentucky Colonel, Charter Member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #6445, and a Member of the American Legion. He was selected as CSRA Outstanding Older Worker of the Year 2003, and was also selected as Outstanding Older Worker Year 2003 in the State of Georgia. Mr. Klein was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Forsolono Klein, and his second wife Delle Anderson Klein. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Sims (Fred), Augusta, Reba Parkman Brooks (Buddy), Cheraw, SC and Judy Parkman Ellis (Herb), Augusta; Seven grandchildren, Courtney Brooks Hallock, Anna H. Brooks, H.L. 'Tripp' Ellis III, Lance Parkman Ellis, and H. Phelps Brooks, IV, Fred Marion Sims, Jr and Craig Powell Sims; and eleven great-grandchildren, Alexander Brooks Hallock, Anna Lillian Hallock and Emma Madeline Hallock, John Prescott Schoderbek, Joshua Callaway Ellis, Joseph Hastings Ellis, Lance Parkman Ellis II, Madeline Hart Sims, Franklin Powell Sims, Harper Louise Sims and Anna Marion Sims.
