Jan is Polish for John. John's wife, Apolonia Bartosik is buried in St. Stanislaus Cemetery across the street, Section OO because, at the time of her husband's death, Apolonia had enough money for only one grave.

John and Apolonia came to America to visit their family. Their son Wally was 3 months old and daughter Vicky was born in the United States. But Wally's records indicate he was born in New York USA. John and Apolonia owned a large farm in Poland. They were going to return to Poland after their visit with the family. John got sick and died of pneumonia while they were visiting America.
