......Katherine was the wife of George Thomason (b. c1602 d. April, 1666,) He had a bookshop named the Rose and Crown in the yard of old St. Paul's Cathedral in London, before St. Paul's and his shop burned in The Great Fire of London in 1666. His collection of 22,000 Civil War Tracts, now known as "The Thomason Tracts" are in the British Museum Library, purchased by King George III.
Katherine was the daughter of Francis Hutton (1578-1614) and Mary Featherston (1580-1614), daughter of Cuthbert Featherstone, who served as Gentleman Usher to Queen Elizabeth I.
The poet John Milton supposedly dedicated his Sonnet XIV to her after her death.
Katherine and her husband George were the parents of seven children. Their son Thomas Thomasson (b. c. 1646) came to Virginia in 1677, following his older brother Edward.

......Katherine and her husband George Thomason were buried at St. Dunstan in the West, Fleet Street, London. Katherine was buried in the South Aisle of St. Dunstans church 12 Dec. 1646. She is listed in the burial register of St. Dunstans as: "Mrs. Katherine Thomasin wife of George Thompson (in the) Church 12 Dec. 1646. This was the old St. Dunstans, built approximately 600 years before Katherine's death. It was rebuilt in 1831-33. Katherine's husband George Thomason died twenty years later, in 1666. He was buried in the Upper Church yard at St. Dunstans. Today, all that remains of the burial ground of the churchyard is in a small public garden near the church on Fleet Street, entered through a small gate and sourrounded by an iron fence. A few early tombstones remain, surrounded by grass, plantings, and trees in the west perimeter, overlooked by modern office buildings. A portion of the old burial ground was lost when the new church was built over it in 1881-1883.

......St. Dunstan in the West has a long history, named after Saint Dunstan, born 909 AD, or earlier. He became the Archbishop of Canterbury in 960, and is buried at Canterbury Cathedral. St. Dunstan in the West is believed to have been built between 988 and 1070 AD. It survived the Great Fire of London in 1666, also the year Katherine's husband George died. However, due to the ravages of time, of over 800 years, the church was rebuilt in 1831-1833, in Neo-Gothic style, and is the present church. The church tower was damaged by German bombers in 1944, and was rebuilt in 1950. Lord Baltimore, who died in 1632, the founder of Maryland, is buried there, along with his son.
