Found in The State 06 April 1962: WINNSBORO-Mrs. Virginia Wilson Marthers, 79, of Winnsboro, died Thursday at her home. She was the widow of William W. Marthers. She was born in Longtown. Survivors include nine daughters, Miss Eloise Marthers, Mrs. Dewey Morgan, Mrs. Robert Haygood, Mrs. Robert Boulware and Mrs. Phillip Timms of Winnsboro, Mrs. W. L. Hennessee of Columbia, Mrs. Mary Goldman of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Roy Martin of Henderson, N.C., and Mrs. M. Goodson of Quincy, Fla.; six sons, Charlie, William, George, Heyward and Claude of Winnsboro and Frank Marthers of Pacolet; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Campbell of Clinton and Mrs. Sarah Oakley of Society Hill, and one brother, W. C. Peake of Columbia.

Found in The State 07 April 1962: WINNSBORO-Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Wilson Marthers, 78, of Winnsboro, who died Thursday at her home, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday from the First Baptist Church by Dr. Ralph E. Latimore. Interment will be in the Longtown cemetery near Ridgeway.
