Born in Poland, she and her husband Tomasz raised 11 children in a big house on Lake Street in Webster.
Her parents were Jacob and Madelene (Malek) Bury/Bura. Cecelia immigrated to the USA in 1899.

She embarked on the ship SS Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse on September 24, 1899 in Bremen and arrived at Ellis Island on October 4. Her name was listed as "Cecilie Bury." She sailed with her sister Franciska. She was to meet her 3 sisters and brother-in-law, Peter Raszka. She was 18 years old and her sister was 15 years old.
Married on Sept. 22, 1902 in Webster, MA by Father Chalupa.

Her Ellis Island records state she was from Witrogoszcz (German: Guntergost), Gmina Łobżenica, Piła, Wielkopolskie (Greater Poland).

There were brothers Jacob and Frank and sister Catharina Kador living in Poland. Cecilia's mother was also living in Poland as of 1927. (This information is from the Poznan Project and sister Mary Raszka's 1927 obituary). Cecilia's mother is listed as "Agnes" or "Madalina/Magdalena" Malek in records. Her father was Jakub/Jacobus in records.

Cecilia was one of 5 sisters who moved to Webster, Massachusetts from Poland. The sisters traveled from Bremen, Germany to Ellis Island in New York City. It is likely their father was already dead and they left their mother, 2 brothers, and a sister in Poland. There is a marriage record for the 6th sister, Catharina (Bury) Kador in Poland. She married a Martinus Kador(a) (parents: Nicolaus Kador(a) and Mariana/Marie Filipiak) and her parents were listed as Jacobus Bury and Agnes Malek. They were married in Dźwierszno Wielkie (Gross-Dreidorf) in 1896. Source: Poznan Project.

Her parents marriage record is as:
Jacobus Bury (25 years old)
father: Adalbertus Bury , mother: Marianna Szweda
