Between April 1910 and April 1911 the family Zandstra moved for some years to the settlement of Hardin, located about 60 miles northeast of Denver in Colorado, and next, in 1913, they returned to Lansing, Illinois. Shortly after, they moved to Munster, Indiana, 45th Avenue near the Hart ditch, where Jeanette (Dot) and her brother Garrett (Gary) were probably born. (The Zandstra children walked to the Christian Reformed school in Highland from here.) In 1917 they moved to Highland, Indiana, on Kleinman Road near the Cady ditch. Her sister Babe (Catherine) was probably born here. In 1920 they purchased a 50 acre farm south of downtown Highland. Later a 30 acre parcel was bought and in 1927 another 28 acres was added. Munster and Highland are located in Lake County in the northwestern part of Indiana, adjacent to Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, and Lake Michigan.

In February 1920 Jeanett Zandstra (4 y, born in Indiana) was living at a farm at Marsh Street in North Township, Lake County, Indiana, together with her father Bert Zandstra (52, Holland, farmer), her mother Catherin (44, Holland) and her 12 siblings: Gertrude (24, Illinois), Hilda (20, Illinois), Joe (18, Illinois, at school), Charlie (17, Illinois, farm laborer), Jacob (15, Illinois, Illinois, farm laborer), Bert (14, Illinois, farm laborer), John (13, Illinois), Arnold (10, Illinois), Elizabeth (8, Colorado), William (7, Colorado), Garret (5, Indiana) and Catherien (0, Indiana).

In 1930 Jeantinette Zandstra (14), her parents Bart (62) and Katerine Zandstra (55), her siblings Joe (29), Jacob (25), Bart (24), John (23), Arnold (20, Illinois,) Elizebeth (19), William (17), Gerrit (16) and Catherine (10) lived in Highland, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana, adjacent to Chicago in Illinois.

Her parents Bartel and Trijntje Zandstra died both in 1939 in Highland, Lake County, Indiana, where they were buried too in the Hope Cemetery.

In 1940 the 24 years aged Jeanette Zandstra, clerk in a retail dairy, lived with her brothers Arnold (31, Colorado, farmer and partner in a truck garden), Garrett Zandstra (27, Indiana, proprietor of a fruit store), sister Catherine Zandstra (21, Indiana), brother-in-law Henry R Van Til (33, Indiana), sister Elizabeth Van Til (29, Colorado), nieces Elissa Van Til (4, Pennsylvania) and Sandra Van Til (1, Holland) at their parental farm, worth $35000 [!?, must probably be $3500], in Highland Town, North Township, Lake County, Indiana. They lived in 1935 in the same house.

On 7 May 1941 Jeanette Zandstra married Anthony Leep.

Her husband Anthony died in 1975 at the age of 67 years in Benton Harbor on Lake Michigan in the extreme southwestern part of Michigan, but was residing then in Lake County, Indiana, very probably in Highland. Jeanette died in May 1991 in Highland at the age of 75 years.
