She was born on January 8, 1931 in Manchester NC to Bernice and Minnie Faircloth.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Henry Mack Wicker, her brothers Don, Sam, and Ralph Faircloth, and sisters Pearl Wood and Clara Trumble.
She is survived by her sister Edie Formulak and her husband Gus, daughters Amelia Matthews and her husband Jimmy, Freda Troutman and her husband David, sons, Chris Wicker and his wife Jan, Henry and his wife Kathy, and David and his wife Renee, grandchildren Adam Matthews, Nicole Matthews, Jason Troutman, Jill Troutman, Nic Troutman and his wife Allison, , Paul Wicker and his wife Meagan, Lee Wicker, Christy Wicker, Allen Wicker, Mack Wicker, Sam Wicker, and Nate Wicker, great grandchildren Tristan, Brae, Perry, Aidan, Madeline, Jax, Hannah, and Sarah. She is also survived by many treasured nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Wicker was a homemaker prior to working 28 years for JP Stevens Gulistan Carpet retiring in 1997. She loved her family, friends, church, and Aberdeen. She and her husband Mack shared countless hours of visits and cups of coffee around their kitchen table with friends, family, and relatives. They also thoroughly enjoyed delivering meals on wheels for several years. She will be remembered as a remarkable lady of prayer, faith and grace.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, January 11, 2013 at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines and at other times at the home of her grandson, Adam Matthews, 605 Sun Rd., Aberdeen, NC 28315.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jonathan Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery.
