Sophia Ann Wade, was born to Zephaniah Wade and Elizabeth Newlan, in Adams co. Ohio.

Her parents left Adams co. OH and moved to Fountain co. Indiana, where they purchased land and layed out the townsite of Maysville.

Her father died when she was about 5 years old and her mother moved to Moultrie co., IL.

Her uncle Edmond Wade was named her gaurdian at the time of her fathers death. Found court records in Moultrie co., Il, where her mother was accusing Edmond of not handling the childrens affair correctly and requesting she be named guardian.

She married William Pea, November 18, 1849, while living in Moultrie county, after the death of her grandfather Joseph Newlan and her mother Elizabeth Wade, they sold her share of her mothers estate and moved to Grundy co., Mo. Where they resided until moving to Putnam co., Mo, then Appanoose co., Iowa, in 1872 they sold their land in Putnam co., MO and in 1873 moved to Bates co. Missouri, where they lived until the death of William, on April 26, 1874.

Sophia and her son Nathan moved to Coffey co, KS. where she remained until 1889, when she and her younger boys left Kansas for Kelso, Washington.

Children of William and Sophia Pea were: Nathan b.1850 IL, Sarah b. 1852 IL, Paulina b. 1854 IL, Willis b. 1856 IL, Daniel b. 1858 MO, William b. 1859 MO, Isaac b. 1861,
Jane b. 1864, John b. 1866, Oliver Perry b. 1869 MO., Thomas Benton b.1873 MO
