Mrs. Rachel McCaskill Rogan, 82, widow of Thomas Stanislaw Rogan, Jr., of Greeleyville, SC passed away at Agapé Hospice House in Columbia on December 14, 2012.

Mrs. Rogan was born November 2, 1930 in Carthage, NC, a daughter of the late Walter J. and Mary Gilliam McCaskill. She was a 1952 honor graduate of Duke University School of Nursing. Mrs. Rogan first worked for several years as a private-duty nurse at the old Kingstree Hospital and Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning. She later served as Assistant Director of The Williamsburg County School Health Program. After thirty years of service as Utilization/Case Management Director, she retired from Clarendon Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of McDowell Presbyterian Church and was presented a Life Membership in the Women of the Church for her work in the local church as well as the Presbytery. She also faithfully served as pianist and music director for 47 years.

Surviving are her three children; son, Thomas Stanislaw Rogan, III and wife, Nancy Stepp Rogan, of Hendersonville, NC; son, Walter William Rogan and wife, Melissa McGill Rogan, of Greeleyville; daughter, Mary Rogan Hanna and husband, Frederick Newman Hanna of Columbia; seven grandchildren; Marion Rogan Moore and husband, Zackary Alan Moore of Lexington, Walter William Rogan, Jr. and wife, Marie Ford Rogan of Summerville, Mary Elizabeth Rogan of Lexington, Catherine Rogan Wheeler and husband Benjamin Austin Wheeler of Lexington, Thomas Stanislaw Rogan IV of Reston, VA., Rachel Bishop Hanna and Frederick Newman Hanna, Jr, of Columbia; three great grandchildren; William Alan Moore and Kemmer McGill Moore of Lexington and Walter William Rogan III of Summerville; sisters; Josephine M. Weathers of Greensboro, NC, Anne M. Brendle of North Augusta and predeceased sister, Jean M. Stout of Lillington, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Monday at the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel in Kingstree, with burial in New Market Cemetery in Greeleyville. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
