Jackson's Gap, Ala. - Myrtle Stephens Spivey, 83 died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002 at Chapman Healthcare Center in Alexander City, Ala. She formerly was a residence of Chadbourn. She was born Aug. 30, 1919 in Clarendon to William Stephens and Emily Grace Morse Stephens Whaley.
Final rites will be conducted Friday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at Chadbourn Baptist Church with the Reverends C.F. McDowell and Robert Norman officiating. Interment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Chris Spivey of Jackson's Gap, Ala.; daughter, Paula Jean Wooding of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, James William Spivey of Charleston, S.C.; Deanna L. Prokopowice of Orlando, Fla., Michelle D. Klein of Sumter, S.C. and Kacey Cecil of Statesboro, Ga.; twin sister, Maude Winebrenner of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister, Leona Willoughby of Wilmington; brother, W.M. Stephens of Rutherfordton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday night at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to a local Hospice organization, American Cancer Society or to The Baptist Children's Home of North Carolina at P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, N.C. 27361.
