Obituary.
Benjamin Fish died at his residence in the town of Janesville, Friday morning, Dec. 21st. He was born in the State of Vermont, April 22nd 1801. He moved to the State of New York at an early age, was married to Minerva Carpenter in the year 1824. Shortly after he moved with his wife to Ohio, where they lived for several years, when he returned with his family to New York. He did not remain there long however, before he returned west and settled in the State of Indiana, residing there for 16 years. His next move was to the State of Minnesota, settling in the town of Janesville. This was his last move on earth. He has now to a country where his home will be permanent. He has entered a "tabernacle not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." He has gone to occupy the mansion which Jesus Christ has prepared for him. He was converted and joined the Methodist church in 1833, hence has been in the army of the Lord for 50 years. His life was one of unswerving devotion to the truth. His remains were interred in the Elysian cemetery, on Tuesday, Dec. 25th.
