June Burkhalter Davis, 90, died Wednesday, April 12, 1995, at Surrey Place Convalescent Center in Live Oak following a long illness.
She was a native of Gordo, Ala., coming from Earhardt, S.C. She had lived in Palatka for 41 years before moving to Live Oak. She was a member of Lemon Heights Baptist Church in Palatka. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed making ceramics, crocheting, tatting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Davis.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Graves of Live Oak; sons, Kenneth Davis of Evans, Ga., and Harold Davis of Mobile, Ala.; sister, Marie Burkhalter Hickman of Gordo, Ala.; brothers, Ervin B. Burkhalter of Jacksonville, Ed. Burkhalter of San Angelo, Texas. Floyd Burkhalter of Arizona, Revis Burkhalter of Reform, Ala.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 3 p.m. Saturday at Masters Funeral Home of Palatka with Rev. Bob Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 13 Apr 1995.)
