Boyd Loving was my great grandfather. He was the son of Rebecca Buggy. He was a farmer on the Loving plantation. before he went to live with Dr. S. Shelton. His father is James Loving, who was married to Nancy Peyton Loving (step mother.) He had 12 children, Jane,Sarah,Nannie,Jackson, Sam, Julia, James Leslie,Willie B, Boyd Loving Jr, Eliza Edna Loving, Thomas N, and Edgar; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was an exceptional carpenter. He built the Oak Hill Baptist Church with his children. He was the slave of Dr. Joseph Shelton who loved his so much that he contributed to expanding the carpentry trade until he died. He was really a hired hand but stayed with the Sheltons. His first wife was Catherine Simmons and his second wife was Sarah "Sally" Johnson Loving.
