1. SUBJECT : The Adam Y. Wells Graveyard
Synopsis of transition from original to current name : Known first as the Peterson Wells Graveyard. Later and to-day known as the Adam Y. Wells burial-plot.
2. LOCATION: 5.3 miles southwest of Dewitt on route 646, thence southeast •9 of a mile on route 605, thence northeast about 1 mile on a private road,
3. DATE: The graveyard vas probably begun in 1878.
4. Owners : The land on which the burial-plot is lo-cated has been reserved and is owned by the heirs of Mr. Adam Y. Wells, who are Mrs. Verna L. Bain , Mrs. Virginia Hawkins, Mrs. Irma Wells, Messers. Williams, Charles and Bernard Wells .
5. DESCIIPTION: The burial ground is enclosed with a plain wire fence and there are two tombstones to be seen.
6. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following persons are known to be buried in tho graveyard :

Died September 5, 1878
Aged 73 years
Lucretia Wells
Wife of Peterson Wells
Died June 10, 1884
Aged 68 years.
