This was the old Cullen West plantation that comprised around 200 acres of land.
The property was sold to a Donald Jones around 1937 / When I met with Donald Jr. in 1998/99 he told me that the old house was torn down around 1976 / reason / it was rented to tenants a very large family with a lot of children and they wrecked the place.
Mr Jones saved two fireplace mantles and wood beams that were made into a table before the house was torn down. I will post photos that i took during my visit.
The only thing that remained from Cullen Wests ownership were several very old tobacco pack houses and several cedar trees that were near the old house / photos coming soon.
Fellow researcher and relative Crattie West Smith told me Cullen West the elder who died March 18th 1891 and his wife Nancy who died 1909 at age 99 were buried at the property along with Cullen West the grandson who died between 1906 and 1909 / I would assume that Guilford West who died March 18th 1863 at Estill Springs Tenn. while serving in the civil war. is buried at the property / Crattie West got this account from Cullen the elders grand daughter a Lila Sauls / the wooden markers were long gone and the burial spot now lost.
