Directions: From intersection of US 52 and Perch Rd at the Pinnacle exit, go east on Perch Rd until it dead ends into old US 52. Then turn left on Old US 52 and then an immediate left on Surry Line Rd. Go another 1.1 miles, passing under current US 52, and then look for a small gravel pathway on the right that is the entrance to the septic system for the state park. Park there and walk toward the septic system (about 300 yards) until you get to a wooden pump cover on the right. At that spot, go up the hill into the woods to the right about 100 yards and then veer to the right at 1:00 o'clock and continue to walk toward current US 52. Graves are about 50 yards from the highway.
This cemetery is supposed to have been the burial place of the King family who settled in Pilot Mtn and Pinnacle in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Only a few fields stone markers are left, plus some sunken areas. Graves are inside the Pilot Mtn State Park and the park rangers were great to work with..
