1. Subject: The Cameron Cemetery
2. Location: Southwest of Kenbridge, Virginia, 3.4 miles. Go 2.2 miles on Route #40 to the junction of Routes #40 and #652, thence 1.2 of a mile south on Route #652, thence about one hundred yards west across a field to cemetery.
4. Owners: Bought by James Craig from Hinchia Gilliam of Brunswick County, Virginia, 1793, four hundred acres, for one hundred and forty pounds current money of Virginia. Deed Book 16, page 349.
[Note by D.S. Johnson: Reverend James Craig was the Rector of Cumberland Parrish in Lunenburg County before Reverend John Cameron became Rector in late 1795. See memorial for Reverend John Cameron in this cemetery.]
5. Description: This cemetery is not enclosed and neglected, being located in a cultivated field near the home of Mrs. Esser T. Oakes. There are several graves, two of which are marked with handsome tablets, one of which is broken and the inscription is illegible.
6. Historical significance: This monument which reads as follows:
"This monument is erected to the memory of Anna M. Cameron Daughter of Revd. Doctor John Cameron and Anna his wife. She was born the 9th of April 1787 and departed this life the 21st of July 1810.
Piety toward God, duty to her parents, affection for her Brothers & Sisters were the characteristicks of her short, but well spent life.
Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord! Beside this tomb, are deposited the remains of Margaret M. Cameron, infant, & Elizabeth Anderson, Daughter of Daniel Anderson, Petersburg."
