Going South from Roanoke, Virginia, on 221, turn left on River Ridge Road, SE. (Rt. 664, then it changes to Rt. 639).

Follow River Ridge Road to the Blue Ridge Parkway, about two miles.

Payne's Creek Church is at the intersection of River Ridge Road and the Parkway.

Cross the Parkway, and when the road ends, turn left on Rt. 640 (this will be Franklin Pike but it may not be marked);

Three hundred yards or so on the left is a locked gate.

Getting to the cemetery involves driving cross-country through a field (with cows), up a slight slope.

The cemetery is on the edge of the woods and has a fence around it but it's overgrown with weeds, as of 2020.
