I accidentally found this graveyard some 30 years ago while hunting in the area and re-visit it every two years or so. It is difficult to find and more difficult to attempt giving directions to. It is close to Hull Branch, a tributary of South Harper Creek in its headwaters.
Mrs. Margaret B. Clark was the mother of four children buried next to her and obviously lost her life giving birth to the fourth one (Margaret S.) buried in this ground. Research has produced no death certificate and no further names of a husband or other children.
Thirty years ago, one could see evidence of a rotten fence and possibly remnants of a farm building about 200 yards south. I looked for those deteriorating boards around 2009 and could no longer find them. That was probably the family farm and dwelling.
*Update: Found the "chimney pile" of rocks on 5-1-2015 where the chimney had fallen over. Also found remains of a cellar which had a stone front and was dug into a small hill within 100 feet of the chimney rock pile. Both features were within 200 yards of the cemetery. Daffodils were also present, a sure clue that this was an old home. All evidence of wooden building materials in both the cellar and house have totally decayed.
A fellow I met in 2010 claimed that Margaret B. was his grandmother. His name has been forgotten. This means she had children that survived and had families of their own.
