Photos

Located on a peaceful bluff that overlooks the New River, this cemetery was rediscovered in 2004. Total number of graves are unknown and all are unmarked. Very limited non-intrusive excavations verified 12 grave locations in the fall of 2004. Many descendants of these slaves now live in the local community of Wake Forest. There is also a local cemetery called Wake Forest where some of the descendants of these unknown slaves are buried.
