Add PhotosThis graveyard is one of the very few found on farms that has been preserved. Enclosed in a concrete wall near the old home. Here Judge Joseph Thornburg Field settled when he came to Clay Co.
I don't know if this is the same cemetery that is now Fairview, (there is no section, township or range listed) or if these bodies were moved to Fairview, but I see some of the same people there. This cemetery was walked in 1945. The tombstones at Fairview look newer so I assume that maybe they were more easily read in 1945 than when Fairview was opened, to account for the different information that was put on the newer stone.
All buried in the above location except Mary A. Thompson Field, the first wife, who is buried on Field land, now owned by a descendant, John Clarke.
Since I'm not seeing her in Fairview Cemetery, I have to assume the bodies in the Field Graveyard were moved, and her body wasn't found in the other location.
Just because I'm a person that doesn't want to leave her out in the cold, all alone, I am going to add her to this cemetery so I can connect her with her husband, but her body is lost.
