Add Photos"This is the northern-most of two cemeteries (see Spicely Cemetery) located west of Twin Lakes Road and north of Poplar Road (Training Area 11) in what was Tract C-185 owned by Virginia P. Spicely et al. in 1944 (see Table 1 and Figure 1). Both are marked as "relocated" on the 1944 map and one, "Wilson," is included on Godburn's list of
cemeteries relocated to Butterwood Church where 14 Unknown individuals are listed (Godburn 1977: G-9). However, there is no information as to which of these cemeteries is "Wilson." Both may have been moved to Butterwood Church or possibly one was moved to Gills Bridge Road Cemetery. There is no information from the metal markers at Gills Bridge Road Cemetery to connect a relocated burial there with this particular tract (see Table 5). The exact locations of these former cemeteries have not been identified at the time of this survey."
