Add Photos"This family cemetery was southwest of the intersection of M.R.T.C. and Morgan Roads (Training Area 12) and formerly Tract C-212 owned by Lucy Greenhill et al. in 1944 (see
Table 1 and Figure 1). It is marked as "relocated" on the 1944 map but not included on Godburn's list of cemeteries relocated to Butterwood Church (Godburn 1977: Appendix
G). Information on the metal markers at Gills Bridge list 10 individuals as having been relocated there from this cemetery: Walton Bridgeforth, E(mi)ly Bolman, Dic…, Sterling Gr…L Chi… and 6 Unknown individuals (see Table 5). This location was field visited during the Fort Pickett Cultural Resource Program's archaeological survey project #2004.19 and no evidence of a cemetery could be found in the vicinity (Boyko 2007: 45). Any remaining evidence of this cemetery after its relocation has probably been obliterated by erosion and subsequent military training activity."
