Additional information: This cemetery is also known as the Pickett-Crell Cemetery.
When surveyed in 1970 by Max Saunders and Carroll Weaver, University Filter Plant employees, there were six marked graves and nine unmarked graves.
When Milton Forsyth visited the cemetery on December 20, 2005 in the company of Mr. Randy Horton, OWASA Assistant Distribution and Collections Manager, he noted the chain-link fence placed during University ownership had been replaced with a 4 foot high fine imitation wrought-iron fence of aluminum in the early 2000s when OWASA expanded their plant and built the operations center building. The cemetery is approximately 40ft x 31ft. It is nicely maintained, and several gravestones that had been broken have been set horizontially in concrete over the grave.
GPS Coordinates: 35 54 37.4 N 79 04 47.8 W This tiny cemetery is located in behind the Orange County Water and Sewage Authority (OWASA). Although the wrought-iron fence and gate along the perimeter is relatively new and in excellent condition, the lot itself is overrun by weeds and the few monuments that remain are crumbling and becoming defaced with weathering. There are four headstones and two footstones with initials. The other markers are either missing or nearly gone, with any engravings completely missing.
Update June, 2013: This cemetery is not being kept as headstones have fallen and it is overrun with weeds.
