The Robinson Family Cemetery was established on one of the far western lots of The George Washington Irving Robinson farm located in North Emporia, Greensville County, Virginia. Grandfather Robinson purchased this land in the late 1890s and built his family home facing what is now known as Slagles Lake Road. Upon the passing of his wife Martha Anna Robinson, the family members agreed to designate a plat on SLR to each of the living children and also deeded the last lot on the western extreme as a cemetery. Grandpa and Uncle Willie were originally interred in The Cottage Cemetery but in the 1980s Aunt Mamie Lou and Henry Robinson Manning sought to have their graves disinterred and reinterred with the remaining deceased members of the family. It is hoped that in the future other sections of this property may be developed into a memorial burial ground for others who may not be direct members of the Robinson Family. This is to be accomplished by the sale of burial plots.
