William Hunt was a member of the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps, he died while serving with the Worcestershire Regiment as a CANLOAN Officer.

A teamster by trade, residing on John Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, before the Second World War began, he had enlisted in the Canadian Army (Princess Louise Fusiliers) on 196 March 1937 in Halifax. A chauffeur by trade, he signed on again on 4 Oct 1939 in Halifax.

Son of Frank William Hunt of Halifax, Nova Scotia and son of the late Margaret Ann (née Healey) Hunt; husband of Mary Madeline (née Redmond) Hunt of Halifax [they married on 19 Feb 1940 in Halifax]; father of two daughters.

Lieutenant William Gordon Hunt is commemorated on Page 340 of Canada's Second World War Book of Remembrance.
