Montoya Cemetery

While on a road trip with my husband for our anniversary last April 2008. We happened upon a lovely cemetery in the middle of the New Mexico desert. I made him turn around and stop. Something called me to it? He waited in the car while I got out and walked around. I was extremely overcome with terribel sadness and cried. I have never in all my years had this feeling at any other cemetery. I do not know if it was the feeling of being forgotten or poverty. I am not really sure, but today this place holds a special place in my heart. I will visit it again soon. This time I will not just happen upon it I will know where to look and take flowers with me.
