Thomas Lemon Harper was born 18 Nov 1815 in Berkeley County, Virginia, in an area which is now in West Virginia. He die 31 Mar 1890. He was the son of Alexander Harper and Mary Slater. Alexander Harper of the son of John Harper, brother to Robert Harper of Harper's Ferry. He is buried at Tomahawk Presbterian Church.
