Birth: 1758Pennsylvania, USA Death: Jul. 18, 1842Ohio, USA Inscription:In memory of William Wallace, soldier of the Revolution. At the age of seventeen he enlisted and served with George Washington when he crossed the frozen Delaware to attack the Hessians. He endured the hardships of winter at Valley Forge and served throughout the war.Died in Cumberland, Guernsey County, Ohio, July 18, 1842, aged eighty-four years. He was the son of Moses Wallace, also a Revolutionary soldier. This memorial was erected by Robert Frederick Wolfe, a descendantNOTE: Husband of Mary (Miller) Wallace. His grave is marked with a large boulder, bearing an inscription on a metal plate.
