About six years ago I developed an interest in family trees while studying in the Bible about Jesus's family tree. I was so fascinated by the fact that His complete genealogy was recorded in the Bible that it got me thinking. "How much information can I find for my family tree?" Over the next few years I kept thinking about doing it and kept putting it off. It wasn't until 2021 that I actually started digging into my family tree. I seriously doubted I would get very far. None of my great grandparents are still alive to talk about their families, so I kind of expected to hit a dead end at the start. To my surprise I found LOADS of information.
So far I am currently working on the Harrison and Black family lines in my genealogy. I have discovered I have a relation to these families on my Dad's side:
(Harrison, Newport, Hewitt, Rodgers, Sears, Van Treese/Van Trease, Chapman, Bristow, Poole, Holland, and Dorsey).
and on my Mom's side:
(Black, McSwain, Hoyle, Self, Hambright, Stroup, and Homesley).
I still have a LONG way to go. On top of that I am doing something not many people do when they create family trees. Not only am I researching my grandparents, aunts, & uncles, I am going up as far as a can and spreading out to find all of the cousins I possibly can. I find it quite fun!
