I am an Octogenarian married for 60+ years and retired from higher education in Texas. I have been living in Florida for some twenty years and have been certified by UF/IFAS as a "Florida Master Naturalist". I enjoy studying and watching the local butterflies and birds as well as exploring the local habitats. Other interests currently include researching and preserving my family's history. I have found "Find A Grave" a great aid in this task. In addition to genealogy, I am currently interested in natural history, social history, and historical fiction-particularly those writings which bring clarity to the times from 1850 to 1950. As a diversion I also enjoy gardening.

My current genealogical efforts are focused on the history of the following families:
__my family: Shaw, Summers, Judd, Bell, Tamplen, Gresham, White, Lisenbe, Bryan, Carr, Morton, Marcum, Dennis, Arnold, and Maupin.
__my spouse's family: Holland, Bailey, Bland, and Seaton families.
