Bio

I grew up in the 50s in Grapeland, Texas' Mount Zion community west of Grapeland. I had an interest in family history all my life. Once I retired & returned to Grapeland, I started researching the Houston County cemeteries looking for history. Researching the Cemeteries was a tedious task, so I tried Ancestry & the family history started to come together in ways I couldn't have imagined.

Needless to say I have lost sleep as I've toiled over the research, but I have really enjoyed the journey. I now know how I am related to a lot of people. My mother & other relatives would tell us that a person was related, but they couldn't necessarily tell us how we were related. I love researching my family history, genealogy.

I am able to connect to ancestors in ways I didn't think were possible. People on this same journey have been quite helpful. I can't get enough. I just want to absorb myself in getting to know family. That's one of my goals for the rest of my life.

For those who read this partial bio, if you've helped already, I certainly appreciate your help. To my family in Dailey, Cedar Branch, Wheeler Springs, & other areas of Houston County, you may hear from me.
