Bio

Son of John P. Elcik, III and Jacqueline A. Skillin. Brother to James Stacy and Jeffery Lee. Husband to Pamela McClanahan. Father to J.P., V and Michelle Kathleen. Dog sitter for Sadie, Holly Marie, Daisy Lou, Lucy Belle, and Ticker Belle.

Professionally I was a marketing executive in higher education. I worked for several companies selling administrative software to colleges and universities. I earned a doctorate in higher education from Ball State University and became a consultant for eLearning solutions.

As an entrepreneur, I am the founder of 3 information technology companies: identityXperts (Brand Identity for Solopreneurs), Pragmatic (Web Design, Social Media, and Information Management), and Edulytics (Business Analytics Consultant to Small Colleges).

It is my passion to apply web technologies to marketing communication issues. Once a traditional marketing executive, I now focus on delivering creative marketing results to small businesses and individuals.

My skills include marketing, web design, social media, and information management.

My interests include genealogy, child advocacy (I'm a Mason and Shriner), animal welfare; education (eLearning); mysteries, and science fiction.

My ancestry research focuses on two families: Elsik and Ilcik, who today share the Elcik family surname. Both families immigrated from Czechoslovakia/Hungary/Austria and spoke Slovak. They had in common a Catholic heritage and settled in Durham, Androscoggin County, Maine.

⦁ John Elsik (1866-1941) was married to Mary Pelcarsky (1875-1936). John immigrated to America in 1891, and Mary immigrated in 1896. This is John Paul Elcik, Sr. my Great-great Grandfather.

⦁ John Ilcik (1886-1982) was married to Mary Jeho Zena Jonek (1887-1951). John immigrated to America in 1905, and Mary immigrated a year later in 1906

"Just as genealogy without sources is mythology, a family tree by itself is not history. Life stories and photos play a critical part in today's genealogy." - Dr. John P. Elcik, IV.

"Tell me, and I forget, teach me, and I may remember, involve me, and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin.
