I was born in Pittsburg, KS, and adopted by the only people I will ever consider being my parents when I was 3 days old. I grew up living and going to school in Junction City, KS. I lived there until 1993, when I moved to Asheville, NC with my husband whom I met while he was serving in the Army, and stationed at Fort Riley, KS. He is a native of Western North Carolina. I love the beauty/mountains here in WNC, but still also love and miss Kansas. If you are one of those people who thinks there's no beauty in Kansas, check out the Flint Hills.
