Let me tell you what I wish I'd known
When I was young and dreamed of glory
You have no control
Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?

And when you're gone, who remembers your name?
Who keeps your flame?
Who tells your story?
(Hamilton, an American Musical)

My name is Everette Johnson. I am a blue-eyed Indian from White Earth. My nickname is Chief Talkstoomuch. I have been researching my Native American and European ancestry for 20+ years. The stories and family connections I have uncovered are truly amazing. Both of my parents descend from long lines of Ojibwe Chiefs.

"A person dies shortly after they take their last breath. They die a second time when their name is spoken for the last time."

After watching the movie "Coco," I was inspired to track down the Find-a-Grave memorials for my relatives to add photos, biographies and link them together. If you have any photos, stories or information related to the memorials I manage, please contact me so we can document that information and keep alive the memory of our ancestors.

One Final Gift
by D.H. Crammer
Scatter me not to the restless winds
Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by
When loving gifts I gave to thee.
Remember now the happy times
The family ties are shared.
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared.
Deny me not one final gift
For all who came to see.
A simple lasting proof that says
I loved and you loved me.

Let me tell you what I wish I'd known
When I was young and dreamed of glory
You have no control
Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?

And when you're gone, who remembers your name?
Who keeps your flame?
Who tells your story?
