Bio

I am the fourth and youngest son of Willard J. Kobel and Norma Maxine (Hill) Kobel.
I grew up in Coshocton, Ohio and graduated from Coshocton High School. Later, I graduated from Ohio State University as well as earning degrees from Ohio University, and Morehead State University.

My grandparents were Charles Kobel and Clemmie Elliott Kobel of Fresno, Ohio. They lived and worked on the family farm.
Unfortunately, I never knew my grandfather. He passed several years before I was born.
However, my grandmother was a kind and sweet lady. I always looked forward to being at the farm with her. I enjoyed playing in the creek and exploring.
She never said an unkind word...she would dry me off and warm me up and send me on my way. There was a small cave in the rocky ledge across the road from the house. At least, it was a cave in my imagination.
Grandma would not be surprised that I still dislike outhouses.
Although I only had grandma in my life for a short time, she made a very big impression. She passed when I was in second grade (1963).

My great grandparents were John Kobel and Catherine Penrod Kobel. My great grandfather came to America from Germany. He settled in Ohio, married, raised a family, and fought in The Civil War. He was a tall and impressive figure of a man.
I thank him for his courage to start a new life in America.
If it was not for him, then.................................................
