Years ago I located to an area near one of the best Genealogy Libraries in the country, and figured that while I was in the area I should (for the family) look into our history, at least our ancestry back to immigrants and home countries.
Needless to say, that was well over 30 years ago and now and then I'm still at it.

Some of the Family names that I research are:
Abels/Ables/Delarue/Bevard/Borton/Dennison/Masters/McPeek
Long/Redd/Oliphant/Dolman
Pryor/Prior/Parks/McFrederick/McFadden/Ruble/Phillips
Avant/Beall/Holt/Harrell
Overstreet/Martin/Wade
Lowry/Wilks/Pigg
More distant Family Names (1700's & earlier) include:
Ballinger/Chandler/Ewing/Fendall/Haines/Harding/Rogers/
And just as many names on my wife's side (eventually I'll add most of them also). Then all the in-laws & related families (and multiple spouses), etc.
