Bio

I'm a Georgia Peach, a crazy Georgia Bulldogs fan, and although I was born in Atlanta, I grew up in a very small rural, small town in NW Georgia known as White, Georgia.

I was like all other small town kids. I loved and still love the outdoors. I loved to explore, hike, fish, camp, ride motorcycles and play baseball and football with my cousins and friends. I hung out at my Mawmaw & Pawpaw Huskins house, because that's where most of my family and friends all lived, most within a mile or two of one another.

The things that I miss most aren't things really, but the special times spent with my grandparents camping in the Smoky Mountains near Cherokee, Maggie Valley and Murphy, NC. I would give anything to go back to that time in my life.

As an adult, I went to college, joined the Air Force and have worked as a Clinical Laboratory scientist for 30+ years. I'm a stay at home wife now. I love to spend time with my husband on trips. We love hiking, gambling, exploring, gardening, socializing with friends and family, binge watching TV, and swimming or relaxing by the pool or the beach. I love antiquing, yard & estate sales and seeing what others like and wondering where and who they came from.

Genealogy is an addiction that I've been into for 5 years now. The man that I believe was my dad all my life (although he was not an active member) passed away, and before he died, he told me that he wasn't my father, which explains a lot. I collected a DNA specimen from his grandson and what do you know? I found my true biological father!

I found out a lot about him, met him a few times and had wonderful conversations with he and his wife who knew all about me. He passed away in late 2021, so I don't have him in my life anymore, but his brothers and sisters that are still living have opened their lives up to me and make me feel very welcome. Thank you Ancestry for that.
