Bio

I am a genealogy researcher located in Person Co., NC with nearly 20 years of experience. I enjoy all aspects of my research, but breaking through “brick walls” is what I enjoy the most. Hard cases are by far my favorite to research. I have a very detailed process that involves cross-checking information in multiple ways. Unlike “leaf collectors” on ancestry, everything I research I prove with thorough documentation. However, there are times that “probable” is the closest you can get and in those instances I provide information to the less options as well so that the person I’m researching for has the information to make their own informed decision. I’ll spend hours in an effort to turn probable into proven, but if it can’t be done, it just can’t be done.

In addition to genealogy I also verify burial locations and photograph them for people, most of this I have done over the years outside of FindAGrave. By profession I am a landscape and nature photographer. When I photograph a grave for someone I make sure that I include all angles, close-ups of any damage or special markings, a complete view of the gravesite, and a complete cemetery view. I also document in written detail the overall condition of the grave, headstone, and area around the grave.

I am available to go to most all cemeteries in Person County, NC and can make trips to surrounding counties (Caswell, Granville, Orange, etc and Nash Co. periodically). I really enjoy tracking down lost cemeteries, in other words ones that even the county has lost track of. Hard to locate graves that require detailed research to find are also enjoyable to me.

Current research:
*Confederate Veterans of North Carolina
*Lost & Abandoned Cemeteries in the NC Piedmont area
*Personal Genealogical Research: Dover, Price, Minton, Alexander, Mullinax, Mashborn, Posey, and many more of Nc, Ga, Sc, and Tn.
