I am a busy grandmother who is very involved with my grandkids’ activities. When I do have some free time, I turn to genealogy and my family history. My Walsh family came from Ireland in the early 1800s and made their home in Quebec for several years before moving on to Dougherty, Iowa.

Since Walsh is my maiden name, I spend most of my time researching this family. I am also interested in learning more history about the families who are connected to my Walsh family: Ryan, Anderson, Severson, McMenimen, Boudreau, Kitto, Haupert, Allen, Nettleton, Magnuson, and Nutting. Most of these families lived in Iowa at one point and have either stayed in the state or moved to other locations throughout the United States.
