Bio

Scott was born to Bruce Duncan MacLachlan and Suzanne (Henryson) Kingsbury MacLachlan on April 16th, 1956 in Inglewood, CA.

Having had musical influences from both maternal and paternal sides of the family, Scott became a multi-instrumentalist and singer, performing professionally from his early teens until leaving San Diego State in his senior year, during which he returned to his native Los Angeles and began songwriting for Chappell Music (now Warner/Chappell), and having songs recorded by Righteous Brother, Bobby Hatfield) and Crystal Gayle by the age of 23. He would write with hit songwriter and Eddie Cochan fiance, Sharon Sheeley, produce music parodies for Los Angeles radio (KLOS) comedy jocks, Mark and Brian, become a session musician/vocalist for major record label recording artists before starting a family with his wife, Elaine Black MacLachlan (married in March, 1985), and raising their three children, Michelle Suzanne, Ryan James, and Tanner Douglas MacLachlan.

Scott would become an IATSE propmaker, construction coordinator, then special effects pyro-tech and fabricator on movies such as Volcano, Contact, Jurassic Park III, later art directing some 64 episodes of the Power Rangers.

Upon sustaining an incomplete spinal cord injury on HBO's Deadwood in 2005, Scott had little choice but to return to both acting (SAG-AFTRA) and music publishing, licensing his catalog of music compositions to ad agencies such as BBDO, and Publicis Kaplan Thaler, for use in national television commercials, for video gaming companies and Netflix tv shows.

He and his wife reside in Valencia, California.

Trivia: Scott's father, Bruce, was frat brothers with Watergate's, HR (Bob) Haldeman, UCLA football captain and VIP, and was a USMC, decorated Korean vet and USC trial attorney, known as something of a bar brawler, before he came to know AA, where he participated for the last 30+ years of hs life.
